Advent Devotional from our DS's wife Robbie Craker

Friday, First Week of Advent

Colossians 1:15a

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. – The Message

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. - NIV

Christ is exactly like God, who cannot be seen. –CEV

Hebrews 1:3

God's Son has all the brightness of God's own glory and is like him in every way. –CEV

This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God's nature. – The Message

The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, - NIV

Jesus Christ, the exact representation and revelation of God. What do we see when we look at Jesus?

Gospel writers Matthew and Mark show us…

he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

"I have compassion for these people;”

Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes.

Filled with compassion

he had compassion on them

"I have compassion for these people;”

Father, today we want to be Your image in our world, full of compassion. Thank you for Your Son who represents You – for His compassion that changed everyone He touched. Amen
